A beautiful Gallery day out in St Ives with @rosal A beautiful Gallery day out in St Ives with @rosalind_andain and @chrisinsoll to collect work from (and drop work to) @stivessociety : the sun shone, the sea glittered, the Sloop car park gods were kind, we visited the best Art bookshop in the land @sevenwivesandco , no seagulls ate our pasties… AND I scored a book for my Nipper containing a favourite picture: ‘The Hunt in The Forest’, Uccello, c.1465-1470, @ashmoleanmuseum amongst many other beautiful things.

This week I finally had the chance to resolve an o This week I finally had the chance to resolve an oil sketch of a little Damson tree, started when it was the first blossom in the garden - now everything is alive with colour and Summers warm light, back then Winters greys were still predominant, and it lit up its patch in the raised bed.

Yesterday morning spent drawing weeping Angels in Yesterday morning spent drawing weeping Angels in the peace of St Ewe Church during June’s Sketchclub - ancient and chiselled with beautiful grain to the work - there are always fresh flowers quietly delivered and arranged by caretakers of this lovely place. 

(All welcome to come and draw for an hour or so at 11am on the first Wednesday of the month)
