  • A portrait format oil painting of a girl sat on a green velvet chair, in a 1950s ballerina style dress. The girl is about 18 years old, and very pretty, with blonde hair pulled back in a bun with a centre parting, her dress is white with a net petticoat, and scattered with black velvet roses. She sits slightly side on, with her hands together on her lap. She feels very serene, some parts of the picture are painted very loosely, whilst her face and features are figurative.

It's a very calm feeling picture

The portrait is head and shoulders, she sits looking slightly to the right side of the picture, the kimono is antique Japanese, with gold embroidered flowers at the shoulder. She is very beautiful, with dark eyes and dark hair tied back from her face, the paint marks are fine on her face, and looser for the background and textiles.

  • A landscape format oil on board painting by Nina Packer, of snowdrops in a black lustre ware milk jug with pale blue inner glaze. the jug sits on a fabric cloth loosely painted in Windsor blue green shade, there is a blackbird egg and a gold wedding band next to them. Snowdrops are for hope in the language of flowers, picked from the hedges in this most difficult of Januarys.

There is a garland of gold stars snaking accross the items, and a little group of dried silvery moss tucked between. It is called All Souls and Christmas.

  • A large rectangular oil painting of a seated girl reading a book; the girl, (the artists daughter) is ten years old and her image takes up most of the canvas, she is sat in an old dark wood farm kitchen style chair with curved arms and a spoke back, leaning forward slightly over her book, which is open on her knee - Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix - her eyes are downcast, absorbed in the story and her long hair is worn down, soft brown against a purple zippered top. Her face seems lit by the book, whilst the rest of the painting is lit from a window behind, next to her on the table is a birds nest and a seabird skull, there are two blue and white pots just visibel in the background on the window ledge. Parts of the painting are painted loosely, her face is focussed.

  • A small rectangular painting of a wood burning stove set in a workshop interior; the 'Villager' stove is lit and you can see the flames through the glass panes, one of which is cracked on the corner, it is set up on a concrete plinth next to a blockwork section of wall, there are heavy black iron weights on the top either side of the flue. The room is dusty and cosy, and a broom leans against the wall with a pile of red dust and wood shavings and a shovel, the ornate decoration on the stove is picked out in the flickering fire light. The craftsman is working at the bench, just out of sight - a tiny piece of his green metal chair leg is visible to the right.
